Turning tool is one of the most widely used tools in metal cutting. It can be used on the lathe to process the outer circle, end plane, thread, inner hole, and can also be used for grooving and cutting. The turning tool can be divided into integral turning tool, welding assembly turning tool and mechanically clamped blade turning tool in structure. Turning tools with mechanically clamped blades can be divided into machine tool turning tools and indexable turning tools. The cutting performance of mechanically clamped turning tool is stable, and workers do not have to sharpen the tool, so it is used more and more in modern production.

Hole machining tools can generally be divided into two categories:
1, one is a tool that is processed out of the solid material, commonly used are twist drill, center drill and deep hole drill;
2, the other type of tool is to reprocess the existing holes on the workpiece, commonly used reaming drill, reamer and boring cutter.

Milling cutter is a kind of multi-blade rotary cutter which is widely used. Divided by use:
1.  Processing plane, such as cylindrical plane milling cutter, end milling cutter, etc.;
2. Processing grooves, such as end milling cutter, T-cutter and Angle milling cutter;
3. Processing forming surface, such as convex and concave semi-circular milling cutter and processing other complex forming surface with non-standard forming milling cutter. The productivity of milling is generally higher, and the roughness of the machined surface is larger.
